The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Urban and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... Lake County in northeastern Illinois... La Salle County in north central Illinois... Will County in northeastern Illinois... De Kalb County in north central Illinois... Grundy County in northeastern Illinois... Kankakee County in northeastern Illinois... Kane County in northeastern Illinois... McHenry County in northeastern Illinois... DuPage County in northeastern Illinois... Cook County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 315 AM CDT Sunday.

* At 708 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause urban and small stream flooding in the advisory area. Up to two inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Chicago, Aurora, Joliet, Naperville, Elgin, Waukegan, Cicero, Hammond, Arlington Heights, Evanston, Schaumburg, Bolingbrook, Palatine, Skokie, Des Plaines, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Lawn, Berwyn and Mount Prospect. Additional rainfall of a half inch to one inch is expected over the area this evening. This additional rain will cause minor flooding.

Instructions:

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
