UPDATE: PG&E to Begin PSPS Power Outage in Lafayette at 5:00 p.m. Today, Saturday, Oct. 26 (Updated 09:32am PDT 26 Oct 2019)

Post Date:10/26/2019 9:32 AM

Citing the latest weather forecasts, PG&E will begin to de-energize power lines in Contra Costa County, including portions of Lafayette, at 5:00 p.m. today (17:00 PDT, Saturday 26 Oct 2019) as part of a Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS). Forecasts indicate a significant high wind weather event will affect the region this afternoon through Sunday night. The high wind event could cause damage to trees and structures and may result in other non-PSPS power outages. The PSPS event is expected to conclude as early as midnight on Sunday night/Monday morning (00:01 PDT 28 Oct 2019).

PG&E continues to monitor weather models and may change the timing of the power shutoff and the duration of the expected PSPS event. However, please prepare to be without power for up to 48 hours if you are in an outage area. You can determine if your address is affected on PG&E’s website at https://psps.ss.pge.com/.  Other important resources can be found on the City’s PSPS Preparation webpage here: http://bit.ly/LafayettePSPS.

Updates will be posted to the City’s Website (https://www.lovelafayette.org/
