NBPD is assisting with an underground electrical vault fire in the area of Corporate Plaza Drive that has caused a power outage. Newport Center Drive north of the E. Coast Highway to the Newport Center Drive circle has been shut down until the incident is controlled. Traffic signals in the area of Newport Center Drive/Civic Center Drive and Corporate Plaza Drive/Civic Center Drive are not functioning due to the power outage. Please proceed with caution. Residents on Balboa Island and parts of Corona Del Mar are also facing power outages. The estimated time for renewing power is unknown at this time.
