Authorities stop motorcycle and uncover more than 1,000 grams of meth on suspect 
Deputy Robert Watson of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jonathan Brooks Floyd, 42, address listed as Randolph Road in Marion, with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm by a felon.
At 4:42 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20, Watson assisted the N.C. Highway Patrol with a traffic stop at the intersection of Wildwood Drive and U.S. 221 South. Troopers had stopped a motorcycle driven by Floyd because he didn’t have a motorcycle endorsement.
A search of Floyd revealed a handgun and 1,029.35 grams of methamphetamine.
Additional charges are pending.
