Subject Arrested in Maple Shade for Burglary and Peering;
For Immediate Release
Chief Christopher J. Fletcher announces that on 9/28/19, at approximately 4:02 AM, the Maple Shade Police were dispatched to a reported Burglary at an apartment on Sunflower Path in Maple Shade. The apartment was occupied at the time by a woman and her three (3) small children. The suspect fled upon seeing the resident and being told the police were being called. Nothing was taken and no one was injured during this incident.
On 10/6/19, at approximately 3:45 AM and 3:55 AM, two (2) incidents involving a subject behind the residential buildings between the areas of Sunflower Path and Clover Path were reported. The subject was observed peering into windows, but did not enter these locations.
During the course of this on-going investigation, several other reports of a suspicious male lurking in areas behind the apartment buildings were received. All of the reports provided a similar description of a male wearing dark clothing.
Based upon available evidence, proactive investigative efforts, and assistance from apartment complex management, police were able to identify a suspect believed to be responsible for the reported incidents. Arrest warrants were subsequently issued as a result.
On 10/17/19, at approximately 5:47 AM, the Maple Shade Police apprehended Anthony E. Holmes, 39, of the 400 block of Rand Street, Camden, as he was observed walking on Sunflower Path in Maple Shade. He has been charged with Burglary, Harassment and two (2) counts of Peering. Holmes was processed and transported to the Burlington County Jail pending an initial court appearance.
