Wanted suspect captured and charged in connection with multiple break-ins and thefts

A tip led deputies to a wanted man Thursday evening.
Robert Charles Carter, 46, address listed as Alvis Holland Road in Marion, has been eluding the law for more than a month.
Information led deputies to a store in Glenwood Thursday evening, where they apprehended Carter and he was charged by Detective Billie Brown with three counts of larceny; two counts each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle, possession of stolen goods and breaking and entering; and one count each of larceny of a motor vehicle, injury to personal property and attempted larceny.
On Aug. 30, Spencer Davis, of Wall Poole Road in Marion, reported that someone stole a 1998 Mazda truck and its contents from his property. The vehicle was recovered after Carter tried to sell it. It was heavily damaged.
The following day, Aug. 31, Mike Woody reported that someone entered his house on Ab Elliott Road in Marion and took a handgun and keys to a 2001 Ford truck. The truck was sitting in Woody’s driveway running. A tan truck was seen leaving the residence. The driver was later identified by witnesses at Carter.
That same day, Frank and Charlotte Wright, of Ab Elliott Road, reported that a man, later identified as Carter, entered their residence while they were there and immediately left upon seeing them.
Carter was also charged with a probation violation and an outstanding warrant for obtaining property by false pretense.
