Vehicle stop leads deputy to trafficking amount of heroin

Deputy Robert Watson of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Christopher Michael Allen, 48, address listed as Lake James Road in Marion, with two counts of trafficking in heroine and one count each of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Watson also charged Aimee Marie Price-Harwood, 36, address listed as Deer Park Drive in Nebo, with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
At 11:19 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 18, Watson was patrolling on Harmony Grove Road when he spotted a Hyundai Elantra with a fictitious tag and learned that Allen, the driver, had a suspended license.
Watson stopped the Hyundai on Edwards Drive in Nebo, and a subsequent search of the automobile turned up 57 Oxycodone pills belonging to Allen and one pill in Price-Harwood’s backpack.
Troopers with the N.C. Highway Patrol also charged Allen with multiple traffic violations.
