Traffic Alert: Manchester Marathon November 10th- Expect Significant Road Closures & Traffic Delays

It is STRONGLY ADVISED to access Downtown Manchester via entry by I-293, Exit 6: Amoskeag Bridge or by Exit 4: Queen City Ave, and NOT by Exit 5: Granite Street.

The Manchester City Marathon, which will greatly impact traffic in the City, will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2019. The marathon starts at 8:50 AM and will last roughly until 2:30 PM. Elm St will be closed from Bridge St to Lake Ave for the entire length of the event. There will be significant delays crossing the Granite St Bridge and the Bridge St Bridge will be closed for a portion of the day.

Motorist wishing to cross the Merrimack River are urged to use the Amoskeag Bridge or the Queen City Bridge. The marathon encompasses the entire City but will cause more significant traffic problems in the following areas.

-River Rd and Hooksett Rd in the area of Livingston Park - -Hanover St from Mammoth Rd to Elm St
-Mammoth Rd from Bridge St to Lake Ave
-S Main St from Walker St to Blaine St
-McGregor Square from Bridge St to Bremer St
-Hanover St from Maple St to Elm St will be restricted and
should be avoided.

If motorists need to cross the City it would be best to take the interstate around the City instead of crossing the City. Officers will be instructed to work with the motoring public especially in the Elm St area to accommodate those who would like patronize local businesses.
