Two suspects have been arrested in an attempt burglary investigation; two suspects outstanding

INCIDENT: ****Update**** Additional Attempted Burglary Suspect Arrested

LOCATION: 73000 block of Sunnyvale Drive, Twentynine Palms

SUSPECT(S): ***Update*** Damien Wilkerson, 18-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms
Xavier Johnson, 21-year-old resident of Twentynine Palms

SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at approximately 2:30 a.m, four suspects attempted to force entry into an occupied residence, in the 73000 block of Sunnyvale Drive, in Twentynine Palms. As the suspects attempted to enter the home, they were confronted by a witness. The suspects fled from the location before entering the home.

During the investigation, deputies learned of a theft from from a nearby store shortly after the attempted burglary. Investigators noticed several similarities between both crimes and were able to positively identify Xavier Johnson as one of the four suspects in the attempted burglary case.

A warrant was issued for Johnson's arrest. On Thursday, September 26, 2019, detectives located Johnson and he was arrested. Johnson was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for violation of California Penal Code 664/459, attempted burglary. Detectives are actively searching for the other suspects.

Detectives identified Damien Wilkerson, a 18 year old resident of Twentynine Palms, as an additional suspect, and an arrest warrant was issued for him. On Thursday, October 17, 2019, Deputy Stumbo located Wilkerson near Sunnyslope Drive and Bagley Avenue, in the city of Twentynine Palms. Wilkerson was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin Jail for a violation of PC 664/459, attempted burglary.
