Incident: Several auto burglaries reported near US 101

On today’s date between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, 12 automobile burglaries had been reported to the Petaluma Police Department. The first burglaries were reported in retail parking lots near In-N-Out Burger and the Gateway Shopping Center. A short time later more burglaries were reported in the parking lots near Cattlemen’s Steakhouse, the old Orchard Supply Hardware, and the Petaluma Golf Center on Stony Point Road. Several other automobile burglaries were subsequently reported to Cotati PD, Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety and Santa Rosa PD. Most of the burglaries occurred near US 101. Almost all the burglaries were window smashes, with laptops, purses, and backpacks taken.
If anyone observed possible suspects or suspicious vehicles in the above areas, please contact the police department. Motorist are reminded to leave valuables in their trunk or hidden from view while the vehicle is unoccupied. Window smash burglaries can be committed in under a minute and as in the above incidents, the suspects can quickly flee onto the freeway.

On today’s date between 4:00 pm and 6:30 pm, 12 automobile burglaries had been reported to the Petaluma Police Department.
