Deputy Robert Watson of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Ray Jackson Welch III, 29, address listed as Stacy Hill Road in Nebo, with possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of a firearm by a felon.
                On the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 1, Watson assisted state probation and parole officers with a search at Welch’s residence. Welch is on probation and, therefore, subject to warrantless searches.
                Authorities came away with a handgun, 9.32 grams of methamphetamine, seven various pills and 1.5 grams of marijuana.
