UPDATE - TRAFFIC ADVISORY - Streets Affected By Three-Mile Oil Spill Cleared 
Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose reports that all streets affected by the 3-mile long oil spill have been covered with a large coat of sand to facilitate the morning commute.
“We thank our Essex County partners who assisted in the sand coverage to ensure that the roads are open this morning,” Director Ambrose said. “Drivers should continue using caution in the area.”
The spill affected Stockton and Delancey streets; Adams and Thomas streets; and Wilson Avenue.
The cause and origin of this incident is under investigation.
