4 Suspected Robbers of Valencia Mall Store Arrested

Four women suspected of robbing a store at the Westfield Valencia Town Center mall on Sunday, October 13, 2019, at approximately 6 p.m., had a captured-and-booked ending, thanks to the combined efforts of Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputies, California Highway Patrol troopers and eyewitnesses who provided deputies with vital information.

Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s COBRA detectives say the suspect(s) got away with over $10,000 in merchandise from a woman’s clothing store located within “The Patios” at the Westfield Valencia Town Center Mall.

Eyewitnesses gave deputies a description of the vehicle that fled the scene.

A Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s deputy patrolling the Gorman area observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspects’ vehicle driving on the I-5, near the Tejon Pass. The deputy immediately contacted California Highway Patrol (CHP), and troopers subsequently located the vehicle parked at a rest stop near Frazier Mountain Road.

Four female adults, ages 19-20 years old, hailing from the Oakland area were detained on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy. Stolen merchandise was located in the suspects’ vehicle. Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station deputies transported the victims back to Frazier Park where they positively identified the suspects.

The suspects were transported and booked at Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station jail.

LASD Major Crimes Bureau’s Burglary-Robbery Task Force (BRTF) is assisting Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s detectives with the investigation of this incident. The Task Force works closely with station detectives in investigating large-scale crime sprees, residential burglaries, high-dollar losses resulting from retail burglaries, and violent crimes such as robberies.

The arrests of these suspects and ensuing investigation may reveal a connection to similar crimes throughout Southern California, and quite possibly throughout the state.

Major Crimes Bureau BRTF investigation are also a part of the FBI’s Violent Crimes Task Force and work closely with the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office and the California State Attorney’s Office.
