Fleeing Carjacking suspect collides into vehicle killing two adults and injuring a child.

On Saturday, October 12, 2019 at about 1:00 AM, the West Covina Police received information from the Baldwin Park Police Department about a carjacking that had just occurred in their city. The vehicle, described as a 2010 Jeep Patriot, was last seen entering the city of West Covina.

WCPD officers began checking the area and located the suspect vehicle near Durness and Sandy Hook in West Covina at about 2:00 AM. When Officers attempted to stop that vehicle, it failed to yield and a pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle fled entering northbound Glendora Avenue. As it began crossing Cameron Avenue, it collided into a vehicle in the intersection traveling eastbound occupied by 2 adults and 1 child. The two adults in the victim vehicle were ejected and were pronounced dead at the scene. The child in that vehicle was also injured and transported to a hospital for treatment. None of these names are being released pending notification of the next of kin.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, was also injured and transported to a local hospital.

The intersection of Glendora and Cameron was shut down for several hours. The California Highway Patrol’s M.A.I.T. responded to handle the traffic collision investigation.

This investigation is ongoing.
