Suffolk County Police arrested eight people during an overnight sobriety checkpoint in Huntington Station last night and this morning.
 
Police officers from the Suffolk County Police Department Highway Patrol Bureau’s Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team (SAFE-T) and the 2^nd Precinct, assisted by New York State Troopers, conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint at the corner of New York Avenue and Church Street in Huntington Station.  The checkpoint was part of the Columbus Day holiday weekend enforcement initiative targeting impaired driving due to alcohol and/or drugs.  A total of 363 vehicles went through the checkpoint. 
  
The following people were charged with Driving While Intoxicated:

• Erica Scheppy, 46, of 70 Broadway, Greenlawn
• Stacy Abrams, 40, of 13 Beverly Road, Bethpage
• Katerina Patsalos, 43, of 8 Burroughs Ave., Dix Hills
• Anvesh Jagini, 26, of 10 May St., Huntington
• Luis Mendoza, 48, of 59 Tippin Drive, Huntington Station
• Angel Maldonado, 23, of 1204 Tangerine Parkway NE, Winter Haven, FL
• Tyler Rowe, 25, of 169 Commack Road, Commack 

The following person was charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7^th degree.

• Joseph Cacciato, 23, of 16 Ellen Place, Huntington Station

 
The above individuals will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on August 17th.
 
A criminal charge is an accusation.  A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
