Incident Summary:
On Thursday, October 10, 2019 at approximately 8:00 pm officers were dispatched to the area of Casa Grande Road and Henry Way on report of a vehicle collision. Officers responded and located Joshua Ghiotto who admitted to being involved in the collision and exhibited signs and symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol.
Ghiotto collided with a parked vehicle on Casa Grande Road. The impact of the collision caused Ghiotto’s vehicle to flip on its side. An area resident had to help extricate Ghiotto from his vehicle.
Ghiotto refused to answer any investigative questions or perform any Field Sobriety Tests. Ghiotto fled from the officers on scene and became physically combative when the officers tried to place him into handcuffs. During the struggle with officers, Ghiotto grabbed an officer’s throat and threatened to kill him. Giotto was eventually taken into custody and transported to Petaluma Valley Hospital for a chemical test.
Ghiotto was arrested for 23153(a) VC; Driving Under the Influence, 243 (b) PC: Battery on a Police Officer and was booked into the Sonoma County Jail.
