On October 10, 2019, at approximately 11:00 a.m. missing child Jace Pletcher was found safe on the 800 block of Roberts in Oildale. The suspect, Eric Truman, was arrested.
Thr child will be transported to the hospital to be checked by medical staff.

On October 9, 2019, at approximately 6:52 p.m., the Kern County Sheriff's Office was called regarding suspicious circumstances.
37-year-old Eric Truman kidnapped 2-year-old Jace Pletcher from his home. He was last seen carrying the boy on the 100 block of Regal at 6:30 p.m.
Truman is related to the child’s father, and is not allowed to remove the child from the home.
Truman is a known transient, and KCSO has searched areas he has been known to frequent including abandoned homes and homeless encampments.
There is no evidence of Truman having access to a vehicle.
The child, Pletcher was last seen wearing a maroon shirt and dark pants. Truman is 6', 170 lbs, bald with brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt with black pants.
KCSO requests anyone with surveillance to check their footage to see if they captured anyone matching this description.
