Beginning Tuesday, October 15, 2019, preliminary applications will be accepted for the position of Police Officer with the South River Police Department. Applications may be picked up at the South River Police Department Records Bureau located at 61 Main Street, South River, NJ between the hours of 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM.

All applicants must be able to successfully pass a written examination, physical agility examination, oral examination, medical and psychological examinations and an extensive background investigation.

MINIMUM EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

• United States Citizen

• Resident of the State of New Jersey

• Minimum 21 years of age and not over 35 years of age (NJSA 40A:14-127)

• Possess a valid New Jersey Driver’s License

• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent

A one hundred ($100.00) dollar non-refundable registration fee will be charged to all applicants

- Money order payable to “Borough of South River” for one hundred dollars ($100.00).

- NO CASH OR CHECKS WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Applicants will also be required to provide a photocopy of their valid New Jersey Driver’s License and a recent passport sized photo (2 x 2 3/4 inches).

All phases of the hiring process will occur during the Holiday Season with the written examination scheduled for Tuesday, December 3, 2019.
