Advisory

**Date Correction** PG&E Public Safety Power Shut off Alert issued for our Region

PG&E has issued a safety alert for our region indicating that weather conditions will require a Public Safety Power Shutoff beginning between 5am on Wednesday 10/9 through 5am on Thursday 10/10. CPD is working with the Santa Cruz County Office of Emergency Services (OES) who is designated as the emergency services coordinator for the County during these types of situations. At this time the predicted weather conditions remain the same. If power is shut off in our community, it will likely not be turned back on for a period of days. Based on the best currently available information, a small portion of Capitola is potentially affected by the shut off. Specifically Bay Ave from Capitola Ave to the freeway and the industrial portions of Kennedy Drive adjacent to southbound Hwy 1. The size of the affected area could change as updated information is received from County OES and/or PGE. Police Department personnel are conducting field visits to potentially affected residents and businesses to ensure this important safety message is received.
