Detective Paul Alkire of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Mitchell Ray Roper, 28, address listed as Wheeler Drive in Marion, with possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and maintaining a dwelling to keep a controlled substance.
                Detective Andy Manis of the Sheriff’s Office also charged Roper with possession of stolen goods.
                In addition, Detective Jesse Hicks of the Sheriff’s Office charged Roper with another count of possession of stolen goods.
                On Monday, July 1, Douglas Snyder reported that someone removed a Stihl chainsaw from his residence on Snyder Drive in Marion.
                Jerry Waddell reported on Friday, Aug. 30 that someone stole a yellow 1998 Honda Foreman four-wheeler from his property on Biggerstaff Loop.
                Manis received information that Roper was in possession of the stolen ATV.
                Authorities with the Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police Department searched Roper’s property on Wednesday, Sept. 25 and found the stolen ATV, the stolen chainsaw, 252 grams of marijuana and 2 grams of methamphetamine.
