The Westfield Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Friday evening at 10:14PM from the 900 block of Mountainview Circle. The vehicle was left unlocked with the key fob inside.
 
This vehicle was recovered less than two hours later in the area of Fourth Avenue/Maple Street in Garwood after police responded to a reported attempted vehicle theft on the 700 block of Sherman Street in Westfield at 12:04am.
 
Through the collective efforts of the Westfield, Garwood and Cranford Police Departments, which included an extensive search of the area and a subsequent foot pursuit, three persons have been arrested: one adult from East Orange and two juveniles, one from East Orange and the other from Newark.  
 
A second vehicle stolen from Livingston was also recovered on the 300 block of Maple Street in Garwood.
 
This investigation is ongoing, and criminal charges will be forthcoming and announced when finalized.
