From the South Western School District Superintendent:
Our South Western Girls’ Varsity Soccer team was at Central York for a competition during the time of potential exposure on September 12, 2019. As a result, the district is taking precautionary steps to inform our entire community of this risk and providing guidance from the Pennsylvania Department of Health. If you have any concerns, we are encouraging you to reach out to your health care provider or the toll-free hotline (1-877-PA-HEALTH) for guidance.
Wellspan York Hospital Command Post has been provided this information.
York Hospital Command Center phone number is 717-812-3135
York Hospital will be sending the request on the PEMA Resource Request form.
York Hospital Command Center has advised that a second measles case has been confirmed. They are working on a press release. This case will involve Central York School District, specifically Central High School and Central Middle School.
York Hospital is also putting together a Resource Request for DOH assistance with a call center.
A manager of the Emergency Department at York Hospital contacted York 911 to request that a notification be sent to EMS providers that all patients entering the Emergency Department will be required to have a mask on prior to entry. A page was sent to EMS providers.
The reason was due to a prior measles case. They indicated this was part of their procedure.
