The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and Small Stream Flood Advisory for... Northwestern Roosevelt County in east central New Mexico... Southeastern Quay County in east central New Mexico... Curry County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 445 AM MDT

* At 145 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated a large area of moderate to heavy rainfall along the Caprock in east central New Mexico. Two to three inches of rain have already fallen over parts of the area, with localized amounts as high as five inches near Melrose. Arroyos and small streams as well as low lying areas and bar ditches will experience flooding through the early morning hours.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clovis, Melrose, Grady, House, Saint Vrain, Ranchvale, Tolar, Cannon Air Force Base, Broadview and Wheatland.

* AFFECTED AREAS: QUAY, NM ... CURRY, NM ... ROOSEVELT, NM

Remember, ditches are deadly. A gentle flow of water can become a raging torrent in a matter of minutes. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
