Fredrick Knipe arrested after firing a weapon outside his home. Stolen gun also recovered.

At 8:40 PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2019, Anchorage Police responded to a trailer home on the 3300-block of Boniface Parkway in reference to shots fired.  Officers made contact with an adult male who stated he was sitting on his bed when he heard several shots fired from the area behind his residence at which time a single round traveled through his trailer wall and broke his dresser mirror.
It was determined an adult male, who lives in a trailer home behind the victim’s home, had fired off several rounds from a handgun while standing in his backyard.
49-year-old Fredrick A. Knipe was arrested and transported to the Anchorage Police Department for questioning by detectives.  Afterwards he was remanded at the Anchorage Jail on the charges of Misconduct Involving a Weapon II and Violate Conditions of Release for a Felony.
The gun used by Knipe was seized for evidence.  Officers found a second handgun in Knipe’s residence; a computer check confirmed the second weapon had been reported as stolen in a residential burglary that occurred on the 6000-block of Mackay Street in February 2016.
There were no injuries.
