The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for
* Portions of Illinois and northwest Indiana, including the following areas, in Illinois, Ford, Grundy, Iroquois, Kankakee, La Salle, Livingston, and Will. In northwest Indiana, Benton, Jasper, Lake IN, Newton, and Porter.
* Until 6 AM CDT /7 AM EDT/ Saturday
* Waves of thunderstorms will continue to produce torrential rainfall with hourly rainfall rates of one to two inches, perhaps even locally higher at times. Including rain that has already fallen, some locations may observe rainfall totals of over half a foot.
* Rivers and streams may exhibit rapid rises and quickly go out of their banks.
* AFFECTED AREAS: KANKAKEE ... NEWTON ... LAKE ... BENTON ... LA SALLE ... PORTER ... WILL ... GRUNDY ... IROQUOIS ... FORD ... LIVINGSTON ... JASPER

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
