The National Weather Service in Chicago has issued a

* Flood Advisory for... Kendall County in northeastern Illinois... Livingston County in central Illinois... La Salle County in north central Illinois... Southeastern De Kalb County in north central Illinois... Grundy County in northeastern Illinois...

* Until 100 AM CDT.

* At 700 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking numerous waves of heavy showers and thunderstorms moving over the same locations across the area. Total rainfall of 2-5 inches has already occurred this afternoon and evening with additional rainfall likely. Even without additional rainfall, several creeks are likely to remain elevated through the evening due to earlier heavy rainfall, especially across far southern La Salle County and northern Livingston County.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include... Joliet, Oswego, Ottawa, Yorkville, Streator, Morris, Channahon, Pontiac, Minooka, Plano, Peru, Sandwich, Mendota, Marseilles, Dwight, Oglesby, Seneca, Serena, La Salle and Coal City.

* AFFECTED AREAS: DE KALB, IL ... LA SALLE, IL ... LIVINGSTON, IL ... GRUNDY, IL ... KENDALL, IL

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. A Flood Advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
