Commercial Burglary-In Custody
Officer Gerber was dispatched to an address on Old Warm Springs in reference to a reporting party watching real-time video showing suspects stealing copper.  Officer Gerber located the suspects a short distance from the business and ultimately arrested two men for commercial burglary and grand theft.

#023 Outside Assist – Marijuana Grow House
Fremont Fire requested officers to a residence on Sea Mist for a structure fire that they suspected was a marijuana grow house.  Officers responded and confirmed the house was unoccupied and indeed used for growing/harvesting marijuana.  A Major Crimes call-out was initiated and a small team responded.  More than 1000 marijuana plants were collected.  Case ongoing. 

#025 DUI Arrest
Officers were dispatched to the scene of a single vehicle accident on Doane at Cedarwood.  The reporting party witnessed the driver of the vehicle crawl out of the driver’s window and stated he appeared to be intoxicated.  Officer Hollifield arrived and contacted the 43 year old and determined he was under the influence.  Officer Hollifield arrested the man for DUI and several warrants.

Resisting Arrest/Felony Warrants
Detective Rodriguez and Sgt. Magana were dispatched to an address on Fremont Blvd in reference to subject possibly armed with a gun.  Upon arrival, they contacted the man who had felony and misdemeanor warrants out of San Jose, Fremont, and Siskiyou County.  The suspect did not comply with officer command and fought until he was eventually arrested for a variety of offenses.

Stolen Vehicle Pursuit
Detective Taylor located an occupied stolen vehicle.  Once sufficient units arrived, an enforcement stop was attempted at the Hub Shopping Center.  The vehicle fled and a pursuit was initiated.  The vehicle drove to Stevenson/Mission where the pursuit was terminated.  The suspect and vehicle were not located. 

#037 Assault Arrest - Stabbing
Officers were dispatched to the train depot in Centerville after multiple people called the police to report an in-progress battery on the platform between a transient male and transient female.  Upon arrival, officers discover the intoxicated female victim had a significant cut caused by a knife.  Officer O’Neal arrested the 40 year old man for assault with a deadly weapon.

#038 Resisting Arrest
While investigating the above case, officers made contact with a subject who appeared to be hiding in the bushes nearby.  Based on his behavior, officers suspected he was under the influence.  During the contact, the 21 year old became aggressive and combative.  Officer Gentry arrested the man for resisting/obstructing.

#042 Assault with a Weapon
Officers were dispatched to Rock n Salsa on Hugo Terrace after an intoxicated customer threw a chair at an employee.  Officers arrived and contacted a 31 year old man.  The man was arrested by Officer Cordero for assault with a deadly weapon.

Possession of a Dagger Arrest
Officer Tsai and FTO Sun contacted a man who was causing a disturbance at Mikey’s Market in Niles and arrested him for possession of a dagger.

#036 Attempted Robbery
A community member was withdrawing money from the ATM at Wells Fargo on Paseo Padre Pkwy near Walnut Ave, when was approached by a transient who yelled, “Give me your money!” and then attempted to take money from the victim.  The victim ran away and was chased by the suspect.  She safely made it into a business across the parking lot.   Officer Haugh responded and contacts the well known 25 year old.  He was arrested for attempted robbery.  

#001 Battery on Nurse
An employee from a local hospital called regarding a male patient who had been discharged and was refusing to leave.  The 37 year old man was becoming aggressive and began running throughout the halls.  He was detained by staff and placed into restraints while he continued to act erratically.  During this event the suspect bit the hand of a hospital employee.  The suspect was not arrested and was provided a mental health evaluation.  The case is being forwarded to the DA with a recommended charge of battery.

#008 Assault with a deadly weapon and hate  crime – Refer to Nixle message sent out last Thursday.

#020 Theft Arrest
 
Officer Oliveira investigated a theft at Lowe’s where a customer placed an envelope full of cash down as he paid for his merchandise.  Another customer stole the envelope and fled the store.  Through store surveillance cameras, the suspect was found to have been riding a motorcycle.  Officer Oliveira obtained video from the community cameras that identified the license plate of the motorcycle.  He contacted the 50 year old suspect and was able to retrieve the envelope of cash.  He was booked into Santa Rita on one count of theft.
 
#030 Gun Call
 
At 6:12 p.m., a witness reported seeing a group of juveniles remove a handgun from a backpack while walking in front of American High School.  Numerous units were in the area and detained the group within minutes.  The group complied and immediately advised that the handgun was fake.  Officers confirmed that the weapon was not real.  Officers admonished the juveniles and explained the seriousness of carrying a fake pistol.  Officers called all of the parents who responded to the scene to take custody of their children.  No criminal charges are being sought.  The incident was documented.
 
#032 Outside Assist

At 7:58 p.m., the ALPR camera system at Auto Mall/Christy alerted to a felony vehicle wanted by Berkeley PD for theft.  Officer Manrique located the vehicle on N/B I880 and additional units caught up to his location along with officers from UCPD and CHP.  Once sufficient units were in place, a high risk traffic stop was conducted at I880/Tennyson and all occupants were detained.  Berkeley PD responded and took custody of the driver for their case.  A passenger was found to have a warrant out of San Leandro PD and they responded and took custody of the occupant.

#014 Warrant/Arson Investigation Arrest

Officers responded to Fairfax Court for a report that a man was throwing rocks at the reporting person while she was in her backyard.  She identified the suspect as someone whom she had multiple encounters with and against whom she had an unserved harassment order.  The man was contacted in the area and ultimately arrested for an unrelated vandalism warrant.  Officers also served the man with the harassment order and interviewed him about an arson case from early September.   The man confessed to the arson.  He was booked on the warrant and arson charge.

#041 Auto Burglary

While eating dinner at the Olive Garden, a victim’s back window to his car was smashed and a back pack was stolen.  Report taken by CSO Wilske.

#027 DUI Arrest

At 10:52 p.m., officers were dispatched to a report of a person slumped over the wheel of a running vehicle in the area of Fremont and Park Center.  Officers contacted the 47 year old driver behind the wheel and ultimately arrested him for DUI.  Case investigated by Officer Chahouati.

#001 DUI Arrest

At 11:33 p.m., Officer Richards observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed and swerving on Fremont Blvd near Bonde, driving in both the #1 and #2 lane of traffic. The posted speed limit was 35 mph on Fremont Blvd. and the vehicle was paced at more than 75 mph.   The driver, a 28 year old Hayward resident, was arrested for DUI.
