Emergency Repair Work may Cause Discolored Water for Customers Near Central & Everett 
The Water Department (AWD) is working to repair a leak on a 30 inch water main on Central Ave between Grant and King.
During this repair, AWD is operating system valves to locate and isolate the source of the leak. As the valves are operated, customers in this area may experience discolored water.
The water discoloration is caused by the stirring up of sediment in the system and is not harmful. However, it is best to avoid doing laundry to prevent discoloration of clothes.
We apologize for this inconvenience, and we are working to limit valve operation and to diminish the area impacted. We cannot guarantee a time that the discoloration will disappear; however, we do expect it to diminish by mid-afternoon. This work is expected to take more than 24 hours at this time.
