INCIDENT: Shots Heard/Homicide Investigation
LOCATION: 16200 block of Sultana Street, Hesperia
SUSPECT(S): Unknown
VICTIM: David Becerra, age 17, a resident of Hesperia
SUMMARY:
On Monday, September 23, 2019, at approximately 7:34 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia Police Department responded to the 16200 block of Sultana Street following the report of shots heard. Upon arrival, deputies located several fired cartridge casings in the roadway.
At 7:44 p.m., Sheriff’s Dispatch received a call that a victim, later identified as David Becerra, had been dropped off at a local area hospital suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Becerra was pronounced deceased at approximately 8:00 p.m.
Sheriff’s Specialized Investigators, Homicide Detail responded to the location to conduct the investigation. Investigators believe the fired cartridge casings located on Sultana Street is related to the murder of David Becerra.
