Burglary and Suspicious Person Investigations

On 09/23/19 at approximately 1:55 p.m. and 2:17 p.m., the New Castle Police Department investigated reports of burglaries on Annandale Drive and Crossways. Entry was made into one of the homes through an open window after the screen was removed.  Entry was made into the second home through an unsecured basement sliding door.
Also, two (2) reports of a suspicious person were received from residents on Orchard Ridge Road and Taylor Road. The callers stated that an unknown subject knocked on their door and requested to speak with a person who did not live at the home. After speaking with the resident, the subject walked away from the home.

In all of these incidents, the suspect was described as a black male in his thirties (30’s), with a slender build and some facial hair, approximately six (6) feet tall, wearing all black.  The suspect also wore a black baseball cap with “F*CK” written on it in white.  The suspect was believed to be driving a dark sedan, possibly an AUDI.

If anyone has any information regarding these incidents or anything similar, please contact the New Castle Police Department at (914) 238-4422, submit an anonymous tip online at or text 888-777 and start the message with TIPNC911.

The New Castle Police Department reminds the public to please contact us regarding any suspicious activity.  Residents should lock and secure all doors and windows on their homes, apartments, vehicles, and to keep an outdoor light on or on a motion sensor during overnight hours.
