On Monday, September 23, 2019, at about 9:03 a.m., Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched for a suspicious device located in the 700 block of North Chester. The Bomb Squad responded and determined it to be a destructive device, they rendered it safe by 10:34 a.m. It is believed the device was discarded in the area. There are no leads at this time.
