On September 20 during the early morning hours, a patrol deputy in the unincorporated area of Rowland Heights initiated a vehicle pursuit of a reckless impaired driver. The deputy saw a black vehicle driving on Fullerton Road from Colima Road at a high rate of speed. When the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver began to evade the deputy disregarding the deputy’s lights and siren.

As the deputy was pursuing the vehicle, the driver made a U-turn, headed straight at the pursuing deputy’s vehicle and rammed into the patrol car multiple times. The driver drove away and crashed into two parked vehicles then fled on foot. After a search, the suspect was located hiding in the area and was taken into custody.

The pursuing deputy was treated at the scene by paramedics for minor injuries. The suspect was charged with Evading a Peace Officer, Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Peace Officer and Reasonable Cause, Stolen Vehicle. https://bit.ly/2kqodDS
