The National Weather Service in Lubbock Texas has issued a

* Flood Advisory for...

Lynn County in northwestern Texas...

Lubbock County in northwestern Texas...

Eastern Terry County in northwestern Texas...

* Until 415 PM CDT.

* At 220 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to

thunderstorms. This will cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

Up to two inches of rain have already fallen across northern and

eastern portions of Lubbock County and also across eastern Terry

into western Lynn Counties.

* Some locations that may experience flooding include...

Lubbock International Airport, Slaton, Tahoka, Wolfforth, Idalou,

Ransom Canyon, New Moore, Texas Tech University, Slide, Woodrow,

and Wilson.

Additional rainfall of one to two inches is expected over the area.

This additional rain will result in minor flooding.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood

deaths occur in vehicles.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small

creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as

well as other drainage areas and low lying spots.
