ECPD Blotter September 10th-15th

Sep. 10th

Criminal Threats – 11200 block of San Pablo Ave:
At 6:45 pm, an officer reports the arrest of a 37-year-old male from San Pablo. The male threatened to inflict bodily harm onto his ex-girlfriend and also threatened to flatten the wheels to her father’s vehicle. The male was taken into custody, booked, and taken to the county jail.

Stolen Vehicle – 500 block of Kearney St:
At 8:08 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect stole the victim’s blue Subaru Legacy. The crime occurred sometime between 9/9/19 to 9/10/19.

Theft from Auto – 7000 block of Stockton Avenue:
At 9:58 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle and removed the victim’s purse. After taking the victim’s purse, the suspect used one of the victim’s credit cards at a gas station in Berkeley.

Shoplifting – El Cerrito Plaza:
At 11:04 pm, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a 45-year-old male. The male entered the business, selected a bottle of alcohol, and left the store without paying. The male was located a short distance away by officers and identified as the suspect by a witness. The male was taken into custody, booked, and then released with a citation.

Sep. 11th

Felony DUI – Cutting Blvd and Key Blvd:
At 2:37 am, an officer reports the arrest of a 63-year-old male after the officer located him passed out behind the wheel. The vehicle sustained major damage from a collision, and contained numerous empty alcohol bottles. The male displayed symptoms of intoxication and was taken into custody. During booking, it was discovered the male had several DUI convictions within the last ten years. After booking, the male was taken to the county jail.

Warrant – 11565 San Pablo Avenue (Walgreen’s):
An officer stopped a man in the parking lot and found he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The subject was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

DUI – San Pablo Avenue at Knott Avenue:
An officer pulled over a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released to a sober family member.

DUI – Central Avenue at Yosemite Avenue:
An officer pulled over a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and determined the driver was intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released to a sober family member.

September 13th

Possession of Controlled Substance – 1751 Eastshore Blvd:
At 7:34 am, an officer responded to an alarm and contacted a 30-year-old male who was in the area. The male was found to be in possession of a controlled substance and was arrested. The man was booked at the ECPD and released with a citation

Vehicle Tampering – 700 block of Balra Ave:
At 8:38 am, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle.

Possession of Controlled Substance – Cerrito Vista Park:
At 9:29 am, a School Resource Officer reports a juvenile was contacted while off-campus and found in possession of marijuana. The juvenile was returned to school and issued a citation.

Trespassing – 1200 block of Cabrillo St:
At 9:47 am, a neighbor observed two suspects in the backyard of a neighbor’s house. Officers arrived and searched the area but did not locate anyone.

Vandalism – 1751 Eastshore Blvd:
At 2:47 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect used a piece of concrete to smash open a metal roll-up delivery door.

Attempted Assault with Deadly Weapon, Warrant Arrest - 11687 San Pablo Avenue (Valero):
At 4:00 pm, officers responded to a report of several people fighting in the area. Officers located several family members who had been involved in a physical fight with one another. Officers discovered a juvenile male armed himself with a knife and had attempted to injure other family members. Additionally, a 34-year-old woman involved in the altercation had a warrant for her arrest. The woman was treated at a local area hospital and then transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. The juvenile was transported to Juvenile Hall in Martinez.

September 14th

Warrant Arrest – Schmidt Lane/ Navellier St:
At 1:34 am, officers contacted a 38-year-old Richmond man in the Hillside Nature Area. It was determined the male had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The male arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Carjacking – 1400 block of S. 56th Street:
At 5:00 am, an officer reports that two unknown suspects approached the victim as he was walking to his vehicle. The suspects punched the victim numerous times and pushed him to the ground. The suspects stole the victim’s keys and left the area in his car.

Attempted Robbery - 10650 San Pablo Ave (CVS):
At 3:48 pm, an officer reports two female suspects entered the business and concealed several bottles of alcohol before leaving. The women were confronted by an employee who tried to recover the stolen property. The pair assaulted the store employee before fleeing the area, without the stolen property.

Auto Burglary – Pomona Ave / Moeser Lane:
At 4:00 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle while the victim was seated inside. The suspect reached inside the vehicle and removed a backpack containing electronics.

Auto Burglary – 900 block of Avis Dr:
At 4:05 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the window to the victim’s vehicle and removed a purse.

Auto Burglary – Moeser Lane / Ashbury Ave:
At 4:2 5 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect broke the rear window to the victim’s vehicle and stole a backpack containing paperwork.

Attempt Robbery – 1000 El Cerrito Plaza (Lucky):

At 8:28 pm, an officer reports that two unknown suspects entered the business and filled hand carts with bottles of alcohol. As the suspects left the store without paying for the items, an employee confronted the suspects and tried to get the items back. A struggle over the items ensued, and one of the suspects threatened to hit the employee with a bottle. The suspects left the store, and the employee was able to get all of the items back.

September 15th

Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Bed, Bath, and Beyond):
At 12:14 pm, an officer reports an unknown suspect entered the business and left with merchandise which had not been paid for.

DUI – Potrero Ave / S. 52nd St:
At 11:31 pm, an officer stopped a vehicle for a vehicle code violation and determined that the driver, a 39-year old Richmond man, was driving while intoxicated. The driver was arrested, booked at the ECPD, and released to a family member.
