Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announces that streets will be closed during designated hours for the Halsey Street Festival. The event was postponed from its originally scheduled date and will be held on Thursday, September 19th.

Beginning at 11 a.m. through 11 p.m., the following streets will be closed:

• Halsey Street between Central Avenue and Linden Street
• Bleeker Street between Washington and Halsey Street
• New Street between Broad and Washington Street

Drivers are advised to plan alternate routes.

Director Ambrose urges anyone with information about any suspicious or criminal activity to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
