On September 16, 2019, deputies from the Wasco Substation served a narcotics search warrant in the 2500 block of Sunset Street in the city of Wasco. The search warrant service was the culmination of a week-long narcotics investigation.
41-year-old Loreto Lara Meza, the owner of the residence, was arrested during a traffic stop associated with the search warrant. Meza was in possession of one ounce of suspected cocaine packaged for sales and $542.00 in cash.
At the residence, deputies discovered the three bedrooms and the living room had been converted to grow marijuana plants. 302 marijuana plants and 17 grams of suspected Fentanyl were seized during the investigation.
Meza was arrested for Possession of Narcotics for Sales, Transportation of Narcotics, Illegal Cultivation of Marijuana, and several additional narcotics violations. Meza was booked into the Kern County Jail.
