Police Seek the Public's Help in Identifying Armed Gas Station Robbery Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose requests the public’s help in identifying the below pictured males in connection with a gas station robbery that occurred on Tuesday, September 3, 2019.

Shortly before 1:50 a.m., three individuals walked through the property of the Exxon Gas Station, located at 625 McCarter Highway. Two individuals returned and robbed the attendant of $600 in cash at gunpoint before fleeing, heading west on Cottage Street.

Both suspects are described as approximately 25 years old. The first is described as a black male, 5’10” tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and jeans with rips in the knees. The second suspect is described as a Hispanic male with a light complexion, wearing gray sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

While police are actively searching for these suspects, we seek the public’s assistance in quickly identifying them as part of this investigation.

Director Ambrose is urging anyone with information about theses suspects to call the Department's 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477) or 1-877-NWK-GUNS (1-877-695-4867). All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
