On Wednesday evening September 11, 2019 the Harper Woods Department of Public Safety received information that a student at Chandler Park Academy made threats to shoot students in the school. Harper Woods Detectives located and arrested the juvenile early Thursday Morning in the City of Detroit prior to his arrival at school. The student was not armed when arrested and there were no firearms recovered from the juveniles residence in Detroit. The juvenile was placed in the Wayne County Juvenile Detention Facility and charged with making a terrorist threat.
The Chandler Park Academy administration was advised of the threat and assisted the Harper Woods Department of Public Safety with their investigation. The student's identify will not be released due to their juvenile status.
