Employee of the Month
The Jackson Police Department is pleased to announce Officer Ronald Dewald as "Employee of the Month" for the month of September. Officer Dewald has been employed with the department for a little more than eight years and is currently assigned to the K-9 Unit.
Officer Dewald's partner is a German Shepard named "Echo." Prior to serving as an officer for the Jackson Police Department, Officer Dewald was in the United States Marines. He is extremely active in the community. He often times presents at youth and church functions.
He has a great personality and his humor is well liked throughout the department. He comes to work everyday with a positive attitude and is always available to assist, even if he is at home. Officer Dewald and Echo are always assisting on search warrants, traffic stops, and anywhere else they can. He is very dependable. On July 27, 2019, Officer Dewald and his partner, Echo, were responsible for the apprehension of a first degree murder suspect and the recovery of the suspected murder weapon.
Officer Dewald enjoys hunting, fishing, and hiking. He recently started a side venture of cerakoting firearms. He is a tremendous asset to the department and an all-around guy.
