GBPD warn the community of the inclement weather

According to the latest National Weather Service update, the Green Bay area could receive 2-4 inches of rain by the end of Thursday. Rain has already begun and we are warning the community to be careful as we expect street flooding to occur.

We encourage all residents to follow us on our social media for the latest updates. The Green Bay Police Department is working collaboratively with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department and Brown County Emergency Management as the weather is upon us.

Also, it is expected there will be a north wind that will cause a rise in the water levels on the Fox and East rivers. With the rivers already high, we anticipate the water to exceed the banks. We stress the importance of avoiding the river banks and boat launches as water levels are already extremely high.

As the weather moves through, we want to remind all drivers not to drive through standing water. Please take alternative routes and plan accordingly. Please follow us on Facebook as we will continue to post updates online.
