The new school year is here! The Maple Shade Police Department reminds everyone to SLOW DOWN and BE ALERT for the young students walking to school.

And for the parents driving their children to school, make sure that they are properly and safely restrained in the car. Also, when dropping off or picking up your child at school, remember that the schools in Maple Shade are in residential neighborhoods. Be a good neighbor and show consideration for the residents that live near the schools. Do not violate any parking laws, it is not OK to do so; even for just a minute. Be courteous and do not leave any trash behind or trespass on lawns. Do not park in front of anyone's driveway, this is a violation of law, 39:4-138(d) . Do not park within 50 feet of any stop sign 39:4-138(h) . That 50 foot opening you see when you pull up is not your lucky day, a place to park. If you park there it may become, your day in court. Do not park within 25 feet of a corner without a stop sign 39:4-138(e). Do not park within 10 feet of a fire hydrant 39:4-138(i).
