Advisory

Hurricane Dorian Update 9/3/19

The City of Lighthouse Point is preparing to resume normal operations.

With Hurricane Dorian proceeding north along the Florida coast, Broward County is no longer under a Tropical Storm Watch. The City of Lighthouse Point will resume all normal business operations, with all city offices scheduled to open during regular business hours beginning Wednesday.

All Lighthouse Point regularly scheduled garbage, bulk and recycling collection services will resume on Thursday.

The Lighthouse Point Magistrate hearing scheduled for Wednesday, Sept 4th at 9:00 am will be conducted as scheduled.

Many of our Lighthouse Point residents are calling to inquire about how they might be able to help those in the Bahamas who suffered catastrophic damage and flooding. The Lighthouse Point Fire Department will be serving as a collection point for anyone interested in donating CANNED GOODS ONLY. No other items will be collected at this time. You can stop by the Fire Department at any time to drop off your canned goods, as arrangements are being made with local charities to deliver the donated items.

We are extremely grateful here in Lighthouse Point that we were spared from the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian. We are hoping that those living to the north of us are equally fortunate in the days ahead. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
