Advisory

Thank you for being prepared for Hurricane Dorian

A message from Hillsborough County Administrator Mike Merrill and Emergency Management Director Tim Dudley:

Hillsborough County, Fla. (Sept. 3, 2019) – As Hillsborough County appears to be out of the dangerous path of Hurricane Dorian, we wish to thank our residents for taking the threat seriously and being prepared as we worked with our partners to keep our community safe.

Dorian is continuing to move north, near the Florida coastline and beyond, threatening multiple states along the eastern United States. Dorian has been extremely unpredictable since its formation. While the storm’s current projected track does not present a threat to Hillsborough County, we urge you to remain alert until the storm has ended. We ask that you keep those impacted by Dorian in your thoughts and prayers, and open your doors to those you may know who are seeking shelter.

We encourage residents to continue to be prepared throughout the hurricane season, which ends Nov. 30.
