• According to the National Weather Service, Hurricane Dorian is now a high-end Category 2 hurricane with sustained winds at 110mph. There is increasing confidence that affected areas will receive strong winds and heavy rainfall.
• Dorian continues to intensify and is expected to make landfall early Tuesday morning as a major hurricane (Category 4 with 140mph sustained winds).
• Models are showing increased confidence that the storm will make landfall along the south-central coast of eastern Florida.
• Uncertainty continues to exist on Dorian’s track after landfall but the storm is still expected to turn north/northeastward toward southern Georgia.
• Heaviest rainfall totals are likely to be along the coast, and Clayton County is expected to only receive .1 - .2” of rain through Thursday.
• Wind and rainfall totals can be increased if the storm slows or stalls, which is still a possibility in some models.
