Broward County extends hours of operation at Residential Drop-off Centers for disposal of household hazardous waste and electronics materials.
In preparation of Hurricane Dorian’s potential landfall, Broward County has announced that three Residential Drop-off Centers located at 2780 N Powerline Rd, Pompano Beach, FL; 5490 Reese Rd, Davie, FL; and 5601 W Hallandale Beach Blvd, West Park, FL. will be opened on every day of the week (including weekends and holidays) from 7:00AM– 7:00PM, until further notice. The sites are open for any Lighthouse Point homeowner wishing to dispose of any household hazardous waste and electronics materials.

As Hurricane Dorian continues on its current path to the east coast of Florida, we urge you to remain vigilant, monitor weather updates and finalize your emergency preparations now.
If you haven’t already done so, this is a good time to obtain important hurricane supplies that include:
- water - three-day supply (one gallon per person per day)
- non-perishable foods
- flashlights and batteries
- manual can opener
- battery operated lights and radio
- first aid kit, including bandages, gauze, tape and ointment
- It’s also a good idea to have some cash on hand for emergency purchases.
Check around the outside of your home, and make sure that all patio furniture, bikes, toys and other loose items are brought inside or secured to avoid becoming a projectile, causing unnecessary damage.
