Two men are arrested after robbing a local Cricket Wireless at gunpoint

DATE/TIME: August 28, 2019 / 3:33 p.m.
INCIDENT: PC211- Armed Robbery

LOCATION: 8100 block of Vineyard Avenue

SUSPECT: Armonte Rashad Gary, 23-years-old from Rosamond, California
Alontae Shawndel Short, 28-years-old from Los Angeles, California


SUMMARY:

On Wednesday, August 28, 2019, at approximately 3:33 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Police Department responded to a business in the 8100 block of Vineyard Ave. for a report of an armed robbery.

Two male suspects entered the Cricket Wireless store, brandished a black handgun and demanded money. The suspects fled the location in a Silver Nissan Altima with a California temporary plate. Through investigation, deputies learned the name and address of the suspect vehicle which was a short distance away from the incident location.

Deputies responded to the residence and contacted the suspects in the Nissan Altima. The suspects were identified as Armonte Gary and Alontae Short. Both suspects were arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center where they are being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
