Ocean Twp. Resident charged with Creating a Hazardous Condition

An Ocean Township resident has been charged with Creating a Hazardous Condition following a motor vehicle stop. The motor vehicle stop occurred on Hollywood Ave. in West Long Branch after the accused driver was pulled over for going 43 MPH in a 25 MPH zone. During the stop the accused told the officer that she was speeding because her home in Ocean Township was on fire. The West Long Branch Police Officer contacted Ocean police department to check on the drivers claim. Ocean police officers, as well as the Oakhurst Fire department were dispatched to the home of the accused where they confirmed that the house was not on fire.
The accused driver was issued a speeding ticket from West Long Branch Police Department and issued a summons from Ocean Twp. Police Department.
