Advisory

First day of school - new student driver's! Being an upperclassman comes with new responsibilities!

Students who are new driver's are excited to finally be able to drive themselves to high school.  No more parent drop off or pick up.  But, with this new freedom comes much individual responsibility.  Paying attention to the road, following traffic laws, and parking legally should be at the front of their mind.  This needs to be reinforced by parents who hand the keys to their son or daughter.  Please stress the importance of:

- No texting while driving
- Everyone in the vehicle should wear their seatbelt
- No need to speed
- Be aware of your surroundings (especially near schools)
- If a passenger is acting inappropriately, tell the passenger that if they don't stop they can find another ride.

The safety of our young drivers along with student pedestrians should be at the forefront as we near the opening of school.

Have a safe and successful 2019-2020 school year!
