Due to the increase of equipment theft, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Rural Crime Investigation Unit placed a piece of equipment under electronic surveillance inside an equipment yard near the area of Sycamore Road and S. Comanche Drive in Arvin, CA. On August 25, 2019, Rural Crime Detectives were notified the equipment had been stolen. Detectives tracked the equipment to the 900 block of Wernli Court in Arvin, CA. During the investigation, Detectives contacted 21 year old Frank Rodriguez-Aguilar of Arvin. During the investigation, Rodriguez-Aguilar was arrested for PC 487(a), grand theft, PC 496(a) possession of stolen property and PC 594(b)(2)(A) vandalism. Rodriguez-Aguilar was transported and booked into the Central Receiving Facility.
