Please join the City of Newark this Saturday, August 24 as Mayor Nagy, members of the Newark City Council along with Newark Soccer Club Officials and special guests USA National Soccer Players Brandi Chastain and Paul Bravo, celebrate the opening of the new turf fields at Mel Nunes Sportsfield Park.
Festivities will get underway at 10:00 a.m. with the official ribbon cutting followed by on-field activities and demonstrations, community booths, and a special meet and greet with players from the Oakland Roots professional soccer team. There will be give-away items and plenty of on-field activities including a giant “Futsal” inflatable field.
